In June 2024, young Kenyans used social media to protest the financial bill, forcing parliament to back down. With no leaders or political parties, the Gen Z organised nationwide demonstrations through hashtags and social media to express their dissatisfaction with the Finance Bill. Similar to movements in Nigeria and South Africa, they are showing that youth can drive fast $ fearless change outside traditional politics.
